Escaping the Family
A new piece on Graywolf Lab
I have a new(ish) piece up on Graywolf Press’s ‘Lab’ about escape rooms. Also about Agatha Christie, lateral thinking puzzles, Jonathan Creek and Freud’s reality principle.
It includes a brief mention of a particular nineties Neo-noir point and click adventure set in a futuristic San Francisco, for those of you that way inclined!
It was fun writing it and it is lovely to see it on the platform of a press I really admire, who publish some all-time greats like Maggie Nelson, Carmen Maria Machado and Eula Biss.
Read the essay here.
To celebrate here are some pictures of me and family and friends, basking in the aura of completed escape rooms.
